Replication

The data contained within the OpenReach system is extremely valuable. For this reason, it is imperative that the data is distributed in a way that ensures there is no down time for the system in the event of an emergency. For this reason, OpenReach employs a process known as Replication to secure the integrity of the data.

When information is entered into the system, it is propagated to all three server stacks: the primary, the co-location, and the off-site location. This replication process ensures that, in the unlikely scenario that one server stack is irreversibly damaged, all of the information is stored in a safe and useable environment. By ensuring that multiple offsite co-locations exist with up-to-date data, users can be seamlessly moved to the backup server without noticing any differences in Client operation.
