Origin-Destination Reports (OD Reports) provide a flexible way to analyze the stored
Sightings data within the TI-MED.
TI-MED
OD Reports in their most complete form divide a motorist’s trip through the analysis
area into three regimes: the Origin, the Destination, and the Travel regimes. These
three regimes can be imagined as a rope with frayed ends (similar to the image on
this page). All strands of the rope pass through the bound part of the rope over
similar but not identical paths however at either end the paths diverge.
When analyzing the paths, the following regimes may be used:
- Origin Analysis: Provides a nodal analysis of where the included OD records were
sighted prior to their arrival at the first reader selected for reporting.
- Destination Analysis: Provides a nodal analysis of where the included OD Records
were sighted after their departure from the last reader.
- Travel Analysis: Provides a nodal path analysis of Sightings between the first and
last readers for the included OD Records.
- Vehicle Class Analysis: If requested and the Report was not filtered for a specific
vehicle class, each output section will be presented for the aggregate of all classes
and repeated for each vehicle class in isolation.
